The presentation by Alison Kobayashi reflected an interesting and creative view on how one might analyze an old recording, without knowing any of the people on the recording. Deep listening definitely came into play when hearing the recording because of how many voices were recorded at once and without knowing any of the individuals. Deep listening allowed Kobayashi to look for any sound that differentiates the family members and to distinguish the setting of the family. To further comprehend the voices on the recording, Kobayashi created an interesting approach to bringing in actual people to play the role of each family member. This created a visual understanding of what might have been occurring during the recording even though no one was there, other than the actual family members. The aspect of losing and rescuing meaningful histories through the use of media is played by Kobayashi in her attempt to recreate the storyline on the recordings and filming the project and the reactions of the people that she had assigned roles too. This idea also can reflect documentaries, such as World War II, first filmed in black and white and through the use of media, can be portrayed through color. This enriches the film with the use of colors that allows the film to more accurately set the mood of their setting. Visually enhancing the film allows the viewer to further comprehend the film.  Kobayashi has a similar approach to reviving media through a creative setting using props, real characters, and narration over the recording. Overall, watching multiple youtube video creators, one can see their creative way of approaching a topic, with new ways to portray their message through the use of different types of media. Your creativity is the only limit into portraying a media.
